PORTFOLIO - LapZilla
This website is a simple and static HTML website. The website was created for my fictional company 'LapZilla', it was used for my Web Development Course from January to May 2010.
Because the website is only using HTML and not any PHP functions, it will not be easy to integrate into a database or use services such as API's or Plugins to get any extra benefits. It can use JavaScript, this is another way that I got it to function more, a flash logo was also created to add animation to the website and a Hit Counter is at the bottom of every page to add more functionality to the user; this hit counter was done by using JavaScript. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) were also used to give the website a professional feel and edge to it, this CSS file was used because it enable me to add styling to the website, text and it's images. Interactive elements using CSS was the navigation bar; which shows you the link that you are about to click on by underlining it and the page that you are already on by having a permanent underline on the page's link in the navigation bar. These effects add to the websites usability and ease of use for it's users.
I created a PDF order form to have on the website, user's could simply download the order form, print it out and then enter in the product details that they want to buy. I could not add a e-commerce system into the website because it is only using standard HTML code instead of PHP, I was also instructed to build a simple online brochure; rather than an e-commerce website.
Screenshots are provided of the website below, each with a description saying what page they represent.
